Social Worker Struck Off Following Conviction for Possession of Extreme Pornographic images

Social worker Clayton Chigoya has been struck off the HCPC Register following a conviction for five counts of possession of extreme pornographic images and two counts of possession of an indecent photograph/pseudo photograph of a child at Reading Crown Court on 19 March 2015.

A panel of the HCPC Conduct and Competence Committee heard that Mr Chigoya was employed as a social worker on the Working Locality Team by Surrey County Council. On 31 July 2013 he was arrested by Thames Valley Police in relation to possession of indecent images which had been found on a mobile phone.

The Panel further heard that Mr Chigoya was initially suspended from his employment and resigned further to his conviction.
