Social Worker Struck Off Following Second Review of Conditions of Practice Order

Social worker Timothy Joseph Devane has been struck off the HCPC Register following a review of a conditions of practice order first imposed in 2013.

HCPC - Health and Care Professions Council

A panel of the HCPC Conduct and Competence Committee conducted a second review of a conditions of practice order first imposed for a period of 18 months on 13 September 2013 and extended for a further 12 months on 6 March 2015. Mr Devane was originally sanctioned after failing to follow the child in need procedure and identify safeguarding concerns whilst employed by the London Borough of Waltham Forest.

The only recent information before the Panel was that Mr Devane did not intend to apply for any social worker positions in the future, as stated in an email dated 9 February 2016. In all the circumstances, the Panel concluded that his fitness to practise remains currently impaired.
