Occupational Therapist Struck Off Following Conviction for Causing Death by Dangerous Driving

Occupational therapist Susan A Raybould has been struck off the HCPC Register after being convicted of causing death by dangerous driving at Chester Crown Court on 14 October 2014.

A panel of the HCPC Conduct and Competence Committee heard that on 11 March 2013, Mrs Raybould, whilst driving her car, ran over and killed a 72-year-old woman near Macclesfield. She provided no satisfactory explanation to the Court and forensic evidence indicated that she had not slowed down beforehand.

The Panel further heard that Mrs Raybould pleaded not guilty. She was however found guilty by a jury, and on 6 November 2014 she received a prison sentence of three years and a consecutive three year driving ban.
