Social worker Louise Nicole Martin has been struck off the HCPC Register on grounds of misconduct whilst employed within the Youth Offending Team at the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
A panel of the HCPC Conduct and Competence Committee heard that Ms Martin failed to instigate breach proceedings for Service User A, after a Risk Management Panel on 23 June 2014. She then entered backdated records on the 14 August 2014 purporting that she had, in fact, instigated breach proceedings against Service User A and that the breach did not go ahead.
The Panel further heard that Ms Martin deleted her sent emails for the month of July 2014 from her email account, in order to attempt to cover up the fact that she had not instigated breach proceedings.
Panel Chair David Clark commented:
“In the Panel’s view, the actions of Ms Martin created a risk to Service User A and the public by reason of her initial and persistent failure to take the necessary action as directed by the Risk Management Panel. She then sought, dishonestly, to conceal her failure. The Panel found that there is a significant risk of her repeating such conduct in the future.”
The Panel concluded to strike the name of Louise Nicole Martin from the HCPC Register in order to protect the public from harm in the future.
Louise Nicole Martin was not present or represented at the hearing.
