Mazharul Mannan (SW29678) has been struck off the HCPC Register on the grounds of conviction whilst registered as a social worker with the HCPC.
A panel of the HCPC Conduct and Competence Committee heard that Mr Mannan was convicted at the Crown Court at Kingston of sexual assault.
The Panel further heard that the charge stemmed from an incident in which Mr Mannan sexually assaulted his daughter’s live-in au pair. He was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment suspended for 24 months and was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for a period of ten years.
Panel Chair Jacki Pearce commented:
“There was no evidence before the Panel that Mr Mannan appreciated the consequences of his actions or that he had properly reflected on the impact of his behaviour on the victim and on his profession, which legitimately expects high standards of integrity at all times. In the absence of meaningful reflection and a commitment to remediation the Panel concluded that there was a risk of repetition.”
The Panel ordered for the name of Mazharul Mannan to be struck off the HCPC Register.
Mr Mannan was neither present nor represented at the hearing.
