Brian Ellis (ODP12465) has been struck off the HCPC Register on the grounds of conviction whilst registered as an operating department practitioner with the HCPC.
A panel of the HCPC Conduct and Competence Committee heard that Mr Ellis was convicted at Winchester Crown Court of three counts of making an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child.
The Panel further heard that Mr Ellis was sentenced to eight months imprisonment suspended for 24 months, and was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for five years.
Panel Chair Claire Bonnet commented:
“In these circumstances the Panel concluded that a striking off order was the only appropriate order. Such an order was necessary due to the seriousness of the convictions which had led to a sentence of imprisonment, albeit suspended, for behaviour that had involved vulnerable children and the making of the highest category of indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs.”
The Panel ordered for the name of Brian Ellis to be struck off the HCPC Register.
Mr Ellis was neither present nor represented at the hearing.
