A panel of the HCPTS heard that Dr Kelly failed to maintain professional boundaries with Service User A whilst providing him with psychological treatment.

The Panel further heard that Dr Kelly had both a personal relationship and a sexual relationship with Service User A.

Panel Chair Naseem Malik commented:

“Whilst Dr Kelly has expressed her regret for her actions, she has been unable at this hearing to demonstrate that she has gained a sufficient level of understanding of the magnitude of her misconduct. As a consequence, the possibility of repetition remains. The lack of insight was such that this Panel is not convinced that there are steps which Dr Kelly will be able to take to remedy her misconduct.”

The Panel ordered for the name of Dr Jane Kelly to be struck off the HCPC Register.

Dr Kelly was present at the hearing and represented by Ms Charlotte Hadfield, of Counsel.
