Kevin R Sinclair (SW35642) has been struck off the HCPC Register on the grounds of misconduct whilst employed as a social worker for Sefton Council.

HCPTS - Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service - Kevin R Sinclair

A panel of the HCPTS heard that Mr Sinclair breached confidentiality during a conversation with Persons B and C by discussing confidential information about Person A, an alleged domestic violence victim.

The Panel further heard that during the same conversation Mr Sinclair informed Person B about means of avoiding drug detection from drug tests and gave Person B advice on how to contravene bail conditions.

Panel Chair Sadia Zouq commented:

“The Panel concluded that the misconduct was so serious and so disgraceful in this case that it was not capable of being remediated. The Panel therefore concluded that a striking off order was the only proportionate sanction and one that would protect the public, uphold public confidence in the social work profession and in the regulatory process.”

The Panel ordered for the name of Kevin R Sinclair to be struck off the HCPC Register.

Mr Sinclair was neither present nor represented at the hearing.
