Social Worker, Shukin Singh, Struck Off on Grounds of Misconduct

Shukin Singh (SW39689) has been struck off the HCPC Register on the grounds of misconduct whilst employed as a social worker by Birmingham City Council.

HCPTS - Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service - Shukin Singh

A panel of the HCPTS heard that Mr Singh provided work to Paramount Care Solutions, where his son was sole director and shareholder, by allowing five assessments to be directed to the company.

The Panel further heard Mr Singh reallocated nine assessments to Paramount Care Solutions from Social Work Choices without the appropriate approval and / or authorisation.

Panel Chair Linda Summers commented:

“It is the Panel’s view that the nature and gravity of Mr Singh’s misconduct in this case are, indeed, such that any lesser sanction than a striking off order would fail to maintain public confidence in the profession and would fail to declare and uphold proper standards. Through his misconduct in this case, he has demonstrated a lack of integrity which renders him unfit to be a social worker.”

The Panel ordered for the name of Shukin Singh to be struck off the HCPC Register.

Mr Singh was neither present nor represented at the hearing.
