Social Worker, Emily Harrison, Struck Off on Grounds of Misconduct

Emily Harrison (SW98011) has been struck off the HCPC Register on the grounds of misconduct whilst employed as a social worker for Dorset County Council.

HCPTS - Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service - [NAME]

A panel of the HCPTS heard that Mrs Harrison breached professional boundaries by encouraging Service User A to take drugs and contacting Service User A despite written instructions from council management not to.

The Panel further heard that Mrs Harrison engaged in a sexual relationship with Service User B, and used illegal drugs whilst in their home.

Panel Chair Penny Griffith commented:

“The Panel considered that Mrs Harrison’s misconduct was demonstrative of entrenched attitudinal problems which would make remediation difficult. It had received no evidence of any steps taken by her to remediate her misconduct in breaching professional boundaries with highly vulnerable service users.”

The Panel ordered for the name of Emily Harrison to be struck off the HCPC Register.

Mrs Harrison was neither present nor represented at the hearing.
