Operating Department Practitioner, Dawn McIntosh, Struck Off on Grounds of Conviction

Dawn McIntosh (ODP 10179) has been struck off the HCPC Register on the grounds of conviction whilst registered as an operating department practitioner with the HCPC.

A panel of the HCPTS heard that Mrs McIntosh was convicted at Derby Crown Court of dishonestly making false representation to make gain for self / another or cause loss to other / expose other to risk. She was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment suspended for two years.

The Panel further heard that in the role of her stepfather’s power of attorney Mrs McIntosh withdrew a total of £17,958 from two bank accounts for her personal gain.

Panel Chair Brian Wroe commented:

“The Panel was of the view that the nature and gravity of Mrs McIntosh’s offending are such that a striking off order is required. It was clear to the Panel that any reasonably informed member of the public would be profoundly concerned if she were not removed from the Register.”

The Panel ordered for the name of Dawn McIntosh to be struck off the HCPC Register.

Mrs McIntosh was neither present at the hearing nor represented.
