HCPTS - Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service - John T Gibson

A panel of the HCPTS heard that Mr Gibson was convicted at Edinburgh High Court of one count of rape, two counts of stalking and one count of breach of the peace.

The Panel further heard that he was sentenced to a total of seven years in custody. In addition, he is to remain on the Sex Offender’s Register for an indefinite period.

Panel Chair Khairun Butt commented:

“Taking account of the very serious nature and gravity of the offences and the level of violence, the Panel is of the view that there is a risk to the public from a health professional who has been convicted of offences of this nature.”

The Panel ordered for the name of John T Gibson to be struck off the HCPC Register.

Mr Gibson was neither present nor represented at the hearing.
