A panel of the HCPTS heard that Mrs Wheatley was originally suspended for six months on the grounds of misconduct whilst employed by Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

The Panel further heard that Mrs Wheatley’s failings included displaying inappropriate behaviour towards Person A in her mother’s home, displaying inappropriate behaviour at Harrogate District Hospital and attempting to influence the testimony of witnesses in her disciplinary hearing.

Panel Chair Andrew Gell commented:

“The Panel considers that Mrs Wheatley has persistently failed to engage with her regulator, and has not provided any evidence of remediation or insight.”

The Panel ordered for the name of Sonya Wheatley to be struck off the HCPC Register.

Mrs Wheatley was neither present nor represented at the hearing.
