A panel of the HCPTS heard that Mr Shaw was originally suspended for twelve months on the grounds of misconduct.

The Panel further heard that whilst working with Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust a number of patients reported that they experienced problems with hearing aids fitted by Mr Shaw. Mr Shaw’s failings also included embellishing his CV.

Panel Chair John Walsh commented:

“Mr Shaw has not taken advantage of the opportunity afforded by his suspension, to demonstrate that he is suitable to return to practice. He has produced no evidence to demonstrate that he has endeavoured to remediate the deficiencies established at the last hearing.”

The Panel ordered for the name of Philip L Shaw to be struck off the HCPC Register.

Mr Shaw was neither present nor represented at the hearing.
