The NMC has launched a major consultation on the way they plan to regulate nursing associates.

From the NMC:

This consultation is about the tools and processes we will use to regulate nursing associates. It includes: standards of proficiency, the Code, education requirements, routes to the register, revalidation and fitness to practise.

Our questions can be split into two main areas. The first includes where we have developed new standards and procedures specifically for nursing associates. These are in orange below. The second relates to our proposals to apply the approach we currently have for nurses and midwives to nursing associates.

You can also get involved in a series of activities and events that we’re running across the country during this consultation. For patients and members of the public we have created a separate survey.

The mini-site for the consultation is HERE.
