The Infection Prevention Society (IPS) IV Forum would like to invite you to attend their 8th annual conference on Tuesday 13th November 2018 at the Mercure Sheffield St Paul’s Hotel. This day will provide an opportunity for infection prevention, vascular access professionals and exhibitors to network, share experiences, and showcase projects.

The day will focus on patient centred vascular access and reducing the risk of infection. There will be updates given on the Vessel Health and Preservation and the IV Passport projects. The keynote session will be given by the renowned Nancy Trick, who will draw on her experiences to discuss patient centred vascular access management.

Other programme highlights include; a session from Kerry Holden about changing the use of gloves when drawing up and administering IV therapy. Linda Dempster will talk about reduction of gram negative infection and how vascular access can help with this. Our final speaker of the day, Irina Wade, will discuss vascular access in emergency care, looking at the differences and similarities to secondary care.

This day is aimed at infection prevention and control practitioners, IV nurse specialists, vascular access teams, OPAT teams, critical care nurses, microbiologists, anaesthetists and anyone with an interest in vascular access and current infection prevention practices related to vascular access.
