HCPTS - Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service - Darrel J Dimond

A panel of the HCPTS heard that Mr Dimond had an inappropriate sexual relationship with Patient A, a vulnerable adult he had met whilst attending a 999 call reporting that the patient had suffered a seizure.

The Panel further heard that Mr Dimond breached professional boundaries by inappropriately giving Patient A his work number, and using his work email address to exchange photographs of an inappropriate nature with Patient A.

Panel Chair Manuela Grayson commented:

“It is the Panel’s view that Mr Dimond abandoned what he knew to be proper professional standards and the need to act in the best interests of Patient A in order to conduct a sexual relationship with her in the knowledge that she was vulnerable.”

The Panel ordered for the name of Darrel J Dimond to be struck off the HCPC Register.

Mr Dimond was not present for the hearing but was represented on two days by Sophie O’Sullivan of Counsel, instructed by Thompsons.
