Dr Mohinder J Surdhar (PH39894) has been struck off the HCPC Register on the grounds of conviction whilst registered as a physiotherapist and employed by the Worcester Health & Care Trust.
A panel of the HCPTS heard that Dr Surdhar had been convicted of conspiracy to transfer prohibited weapons and ammunition, and heard that at trial Dr Surdhar been found to be ‘the fulcrum in the supply of prohibited weapons and ammunition to criminal gangs’.
The Panel further heard that Dr Surdhar’s criminal activity persisted for a significant period of time and involved hundreds of weapons, and that weapons he had supplied had been used in the death of three people.
Panel Chair Michael McCulley commented:
“Members of the public would be appalled by the Registrant’s conduct and behaviour. His personal conduct was a fundamental departure from the level of trust and confidence expected of a registered physiotherapist.”
The Panel ordered for the name of Mohinder J Surdhar to be struck off the HCPC Register.
Dr Surdhar was neither present nor represented at the hearing.
