Mr Simon Manning (SW102430) has been struck off the HCPC Register on the grounds of misconduct whilst registered as a social worker and employed by Manchester City Council.

HCPTS - Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service - Simon Manning

A panel of the HCPTS heard that Mr Manning’s failings included not consistently undertaking home visits to Child A within the statutory timeframes, and of creating records which suggested that he attended three further visits to Child A which in fact did not take place.

The Panel further heard that Mr Manning created a Child and Family Assessment, recording that he had had input from Child A’s parents when in fact he had not consulted them.

Panel Chair, Leslie White, commented:

“The Registrant’s misconduct involved a deliberate breach of trust. The misconduct was calculated and repeated over a sustained period of time, and with limited demonstrable insight and the absence of any evidence of remediation it is not possible to protect the public and the reputation of the profession other than by imposing a Striking Off Order.”

The Panel ordered for the name of Mr Simon Manning to be struck off the HCPC Register.

Mr Manning was neither present nor represented at the hearing.
