Social Worker Struck off for Misconduct after Bringing Alcohol into a Mental Health Ward

Social worker Rebecca Patricia Allen has been struck off the HCPC Register following a review of a 2014 suspension order resulting from misconduct.

A panel of the HCPC Conduct and Competence Committee conducted a second review of a suspension order imposed for 12 months on 14 January 2014 and reviewed on 9 January 2015. She was originally suspended whilst employed at Telford and Wrekin Council for bringing alcohol into a mental health ward for a service user who had been treated for alcohol dependency.

In the absence of engagement by Miss Allen, the Panel could not be satisfied that the misconduct would not be repeated and therefore, the risks identified previously remained.
