Social worker Clare Linda Bowthorpe-Weller has been struck off the HCPC Register on grounds of misconduct after deliberately lying to a potential employer about previous regulatory proceedings against her.
A panel of the HCPC Conduct and Competence Committee heard that Mrs Bowthorpe-Weller had previously been subject to HCPC fitness to practise proceedings in March 2013. She was initially suspended for 12 months, before this was replaced by a nine-month conditions of practice order, due to expire in November 2014.
The Panel further heard that on 29 May 2014, while still subject to conditions, Mrs Bowthorpe-Weller attended an interview at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. She informed the interviewer that the HCPC had conducted an early review of the suspension order as fraudulent evidence was provided at the final hearing, and that the HCPC had apologised for what happened.
