Paramedic James Wilkinson has been struck off the HCPC register for misconduct and dishonesty after practicing while unregistered and providing misleading information.
A panel of the HCPC Conduct and Competence Committee heard that while employed with South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, Mr Wilkinson attended an incident on 1 February 2015 involving a young man with a head injury being held in a police car. He arrived with a woman found to be an unauthorised member of the public.
The Panel further heard that instead of requesting a double man ambulance and following it to hospital, Mr Wilkinson left the patient with non-clinically trained officers without appropriate care forms and without completing a full clinical assessment.
