Paramedic Mrs Carolyn I Gaff has been struck off the HCPC Register after ceasing resuscitation attempts without completing an assessment of patient and ignored clinical signs indicating that resuscitation of the patient should continue.
A panel of the HCPC Conduct and Competence Committee heard that the Registrant had attended an emergency call for a patient suffering cardiac arrest, while working with the South East Coast Ambulance Service in 2012.
The Panel further heard that Mrs Gaff ceased resuscitation attempts without completing an assessment and did not check the pulse, breathing sounds and or pupil reactions. The Registrant also ignored clinical signs indicating that resuscitation should continue and did not cannulate and administer drug therapy to the patient.
