Registered social worker Sarah S A Khan has been struck off the HCPC Register for misconduct and dishonesty after supplying an employment agency with a false resident permit in order to obtain temporary employment as a social worker.
A panel of the HCPC Conduct and Competence Committee heard that on 1 July 2014 Ms Khan provided HCL Workforce Solutions (HCL) with a copy of a residence permit which appeared to have been altered or tampered with. The recruitment process was then stopped and the identified concerns were raised by HCL to the HCPC.
The Panel further heard evidence from a witness statement provided by an Executive Officer at the Home office. The statement set out that they had carried out a further check against the vignette number on the copy of the residence permit provided by Ms Khan and the number did not correspond with the records held by the Home Office.
