HCPTS - Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service - Tobias W Barnes

A panel of the HCPTS heard that Mr Barnes was originally suspended for a period of twelve months on the grounds of misconduct whilst employed at Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership.

The Panel further heard that Mr Barnes’ original failings included not ensuring that required actions were undertaken in relation to service users on his caseload, not managing his caseload effectively and falling asleep at work.

Panel Chair Paul Grant commented:

“The conclusion of the present Panel is that there are no reasons to conclude that Mr Barnes’ fitness to practice is any less impaired than it was when the final hearing was concluded. There is no evidence of apology, reflection, insight or of any steps taken towards remediation.”

The Panel ordered for the name of Tobias W Barnes to be struck off the HCPC Register.

Mr Barnes was neither present nor represented at the hearing.
