A panel of the HCPTS heard that Mr. Ward was convicted on six counts of making indecent photographs of a child, whilst employed as a Practice Educator by Surrey County Council.

The Panel further heard that Mr. Ward was sentenced to seven months imprisonment suspended for two years. He is also subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for ten years.

Panel Chair Linda Summers commented:

“The Panel decided to strike Mr. Ward’s name off the Register as there is no evidence that the Registrant has taken any steps to remedy the behaviour which underlies his offences. There is also an ongoing need to protect the public from risks that may arise if the Registrant were to practise as a Social Worker.”

The Panel ordered for the name of Jonathan David Ward to be struck off the HCPC Register.

Mr. Ward was neither present nor represented at the hearing.
